A football fan watching a rerun of the classic Argentina vs England match from the 1998 World Cup ‘caught’ the ball and then threw it back into the TV.

In this TikTok, he uses a spot of visual trickery to make it look like Gabriel Batistuta’s shot has flown out of the screen and towards him sitting on the couch.

He then throws it back for Ariel Ortega to catch and take a throw-in, which could arguably go down as a continuity error.

The knockout round match in Saint-Étienne saw Glenn Hoddle’s Three Lions side bow out on penalties but is fondly remembered for Michael Owen’s magnificent solo goal.
