VIDEO: Everton fan throws complimentary copies of The Sun in the bin at airport

Glasgow Airport bin now full of newspaper hated on Merseyside.

Watch an Everton fan throw all complimentary copies of The Sun in the bin at Glasgow Airport before catching a flight to Dubai with his friend who supports rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool Echo report Brian Kelly, aged 47, did it because his friend told him to:

A friend of mine, Tommy Fletcher, who’s a Liverpool fan, said put the lot in the bin and I gladly obliged.

The rivalry obviously doesn’t come into it when this is involved.

He is also said to have been watched performing the act by several other people but that no one tried to intervene.

Watch the video his mate recorded above as he puts all the offered copies of The Sun in the bin.

The newspaper is still hated on Merseyside for its coverage of the Hillsborough disaster and Kelly told how he was returning from an Everton game when it happened:

When we were coming back to Liverpool on the coaches, the only news we had was on the radio and we heard that one or two Liverpool fans had died.

You could see something was wrong. On the faces of Liverpool fans coming in there was no expression.

For years Liverpool fans had this stigma because of what was written.

Loads of places now are gladly refusing to sell the paper.

Football fans, true football fans, should agree to do the same.
