A Chelsea coach stepped in front of third-choice goalkeeper Rob Green as they prepared to lift the Europa League trophy following a 4-1 win over Arsenal.

Wednesday night’s thumping victory at the Baku Olympic Stadium ensured a successful end to Maurizio Sarri’s first season in charge of the club.

Former England ‘keeper Green didn’t play a single minute of it – indeed, he hasn’t made a competitive appearance for any team in 645 days.

But he appeared in full kit to celebrate nevertheless, making himself the centre of some jovial scenes.

In one of them, he snuck up round the back of his celebrating team-mates as they geared up for the trophy presentation.

All of a sudden, however, a member of Sarri’s coaching staff suddenly appears before Green and obscures him from view.
