A pitch invader wearing a chicken mask was tripped up by Chile’s Gonzalo Jara during a 1-0 defeat to Uruguay in the 2019 Copa América group stage.
The two national sides faced each other in their final Group C match of the competition at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on Monday night.

A pitch invader, said to be a fan of Uruguayan side Peñarol mocking domestic rivals Nacional by wearing the huge chicken mask, interrupted the game midway through its second-half.
The man can be seen giving the stewards and stadium security a good runaround as he hurtles across on the pitch, putting the chicken on before taking it off.

But Jara brought the pursuit to a sudden end by tripping him up.
Despite Uruguay’s Luis Suárez asking for the player to be booked for his actions, Jara did not receive a card.

The centre-back was, however, substituted following the incident.
The 33-year-old defender previously courted controversy after being involved in an altercation with Edinson Cavani when the pair met in 2015.
