Vissel Kobe’s Andrés Iniesta tumbled over an advertising hoarding after teammate Lukas Podolski scored against Shimizu S-Pulse in a J1 League game.
The Barcelona legend was running behind the goal after former Arsenal and Germany forward Podolski had given their side the lead early in the second half.
He collided with a board and crashed to the turf, although it’s unlikely to be what the man who scored the winner in the 2010 World Cup final is ultimately remembered for.
Jong Tae-se equalised for Shimizu S-Pulse late on, leaving Vissel Kobe 6th in the Japanese top flight after four matches.
As well as Iniesta and Podolski, 37-year-old David Villa plies his trade for the club.
