A well-wishing Burnley supporter left a sign for Peter Crouch reading “welcome Crouchie, mind your head lad!” on a bridge in the Lancashire town.
The enterprising fan managed to stick the notice in a high place in reference to the former England striker’s 6 foot 7 inches frame.

38-year-old Crouch joined the Clarets from Stoke City on a deal that lasts until the end of the season, with Sam Vokes going the other way.
He has scored 108 goals in 462 Premier League appearances including spells at Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The veteran forward made his debut for Sean Dyche’s side as a late substitute for Chris Wood during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton at Turf Moor.
His pressure led to Saints defender Jack Stephens handling the ball in the area deep into stoppage time, allowing Ashley Barnes to equalise from the spot.
