See a photo of the Chile head shaving initiation as 3 future stars of the international squad were subjected to humiliating haircuts from their fellow countrymen.

It’s a tradition for new recruits to be embarrassed in some way, especially if it’s their first away outing, but this trio isn’t even part of the official squad that’s set to face England in a friendly at Wembley on Friday.

Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli had invited them to accompany the team to the UK and train with the side at Barnet’s The Hive stadium in London, so they could get a feel for life as part of the international set-up.

In this photo, posted on Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel’s Twitter account, you can see Sebastian Vegas, Roberto Riveros and Carlos Lobos – all looking awkward with parts of their heads shaved.

Medel can be seen in the centre of the shot with his arms around the uncapped players whilst sporting a big grin and accompanies the picture with a caption that reads “Bienvenidos a La Roja pichones !!! ;)”, or:
