One Twitter user identified Japanese darts player Seigo Asada as an Alex McLeish lookalike after seeing him at the World Darts Championship.

Clearly not everyone was convinced by the likeness, as @staffyboy86 felt moved to daub a goatee onto a picture of the Scotland boss.

Former Birmingham City, Aston Villa and Rangers manager McLeish got the Scotland job for a second time earlier this year.

He led them to top spot in their UEFA Nations League group, promoting them to the next tier of the inaugural competition.

Taking part in the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night, Asada lost to world number 9 James Wade.

Wade had to apologise for saying after the match that he’d “wanted to really hurt [Asada] in his face”.
