Liverpool’s Lawrence Vigouroux has had his loan spell at Swindon Town cut short after the goalkeeper reportedly turned up late for training and paid a £50 fine in pennies.
Vigouroux is said to have arrived late at the training ground last week and was subsequently fined £150, although this was later reduced to £50 following appeals from some of the senior members of the squad.
The cheeky Chilean then turned up to pay with bank bags full of pennies.
In an apparent change of heart, the goalkeeper eventually paid the originally demanded £150 in notes but was dropped to the bench for Swindon’s clash with Colchester on Saturday and has now presumably returned to his parent club.
Manager Mark Cooper remained tight lipped on the issue:
It’s an internal disciplinary matter.
It’s come from me and the rest of the players.
It won’t [cause any further issues], it’s been dealt with.
