Sunderland continued their resurgence under Martin O’Neill with a 3-0 win over West Ham United at the Stadium of Light, so Football Burp paid a visit to Black Cats forum Ready to Go to find the Mackems faithful purring over the performance of midfielder David Vaughan, as well as calling for defender Titus Bramble to be offered a contract extension…

David Vaughan

Erwin Rommell…

Man of the match today, really enjoyed watching his performance

Hannover96Mackem…

Top drawer. The link we’ve been missing between midfield and attack. Doesn’t look lightweight. Full of ideas. Industrious. Like a new signing this one today.

LT2K…

Larsson actually looked better beside him, quality all round today

bedlington mackem…

The number of times he turned to evade challanges and keep a hold of the ball was amazing. Kept us ticking over, rarely passed the ball backwards and never gave it away

A superb performance

rapscallion…

He’s superlative. Best footballer on the books, cher. Proper footballer. O’Neill should be embarrassed for bringing him on at 93 mins of games.

Kid Galahad…

Lost count of the times he nipped in to nick the ball, the best in a solid team performance. Thought initially we’d struggle physically with him and Seb the middle but both played really well.

Blyth…

Excellent today. Having said that MoN doesn’t rate him and he’s never played that well before. Still expect him to leave this window.

—Nemo—…

Almost word for word what a Blackpool supporter said about him on here on his signing. He waxed lyrical over the number of times he would emerge from challenges with the ball at his feet.

Titus Bramble

wakey wakey…

got to give titus a contract
hes streets ahead of cuellar in every department and we cant replace him with better for the kind of money it would cost

The Exile…

When he has a howler, by Jebus he has a howler, but it’s usually two or three games a season out of 38. The rest of the time he’s rock solid.

Stuie27…

People seem to forget that he was outstanding in his first season at Sunderland. When he has a run in the side and gets up to pace he is a solid defender. Also MON recently said that he wasn’t 100% fit. I say keep him.

Jonny…

He’ll be on a fortune. Good enough for 4th choice but on wages that are far too high for that squad position. Also it was an ideal game for him, he’s the opposite of Kilgallon in that respect, a nippy striker with good movement will beat Bramble, but he did well today.
