Football Burp hotfooted it on over to Nottingham Forest forums LTLF Forest Forum and ForestFans.net to see what the City Ground faithful had to say about the Al-Hasawi family’s decision to relieve Steve Cotterill of his managerial duties, and who’d they’d like to see replace him…
Joe90, LTLF Forest Forum…
He did do the original job he was hired to do, keep us in the Championship. No matter how we played, who helped, blah blah, I think even he knew he was probably only in it for the short run. So tar.

I’d still love to see Billy back and given some real cash to spend. I’ve no doubt he’d get us up to the Prem. But I’d take that ‘orrible cnut Redknapp over him any day.
chriscl, LTLF Forest Forum…
They must have someone lined up surely.
A bit brutal, but the new owners have plans and obviously Cotterill is not part of them.

Come on lads we all know deep inside its gonna be Sven unfortunately………

Thankyou Steve for keeping the club up. You made it tougher job then it was but that’s in the past now. Thankyou for stuffing Leeds the way you did.
Brolin, LTLF Forest Forum…
Just not McLeish please.

Mick M would be my pick.

I’d be pleased with McCarthy, his record in this division is excellent. Each time he’s got promoted his side has walked the league.
Plays decent attacking football with wingers and also seems to favour robbing the lower leagues of it’s best players. Not too sure if we were to go up but let’s get there first!!

Would really enjoy seeing Ian Holloway, Hilarious but also deadly serious and gets his teams playing enjoyable football.
RobbieLePop, LTLF Forest Forum…
If we’ve got the money and he’d think about the job, then it has to be Redknapp.
Roxoff, ForestFans.net…
Assuming that Redknapp isn’t going to want to manage any further north than the isle of wight, I don’t mind, just want to see a proper manager in place. That definition, of course, excludes Alex McLeish – who I think would be a disaster for the club.
tramaziboy, ForestFans.net…
Redknapp is a buffoon.
He was ready to offload Gareth Bale to us for peanuts until injuries forced his hand.
His management history is chequered at best.
Fatb, LTLF Forest Forum…
Gus Poyet if we could prize him away from Brighton
Barnfather, LTLF Forest Forum…
Billy Davies would be an unmitigated disaster for the club if he returned and would undo some of the good that may come out of this takeover business.
He is a prickly character who has a track record of falling out with chairmen. If he wouldn’t be getting the players he wants, it would be something else (such as ‘having to play the owners players’). His style of play away from home was horrendous and whilst we made it to the playoffs twice with him previously (one of those times, quite fortunately), he choked both times.
That is not to mention his frequent none-too-subtle touting of himself around for other jobs whilst here
He is a decent championship manager but comes with a lorry-full of baggage
I’d almost say anyone but him, but that would imply I prefer Megson so I won’t
