Terry Venables is to make a dramatic return to football as next Spurs manager to replace the outgoing Very Untenables, who themselves have been touted for the Norwich City job.
The Untenables, comprised of approximately a third of Tottenham Hotspurs’ 1999 League Cup winning side, look to be dead men walking as they oversee what is already being described in some quarters as “a dead man sleepwalk to the end of the season”.
However, they are set to be handed the Carrow Road hot seat having been personally recommended to Delia Smith by Terry Venables.
Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Very Untenables said how delighted they were to have been personally recommended to Delia Smith by Terry Venables.
They chorused: “We’re thrilled – Terry has also been Spurs manager before, so he’s a great choice to be next Spurs manager and carry on our legacy.
“Many great names have represented both Tottenham and Norwich – Gary Doherty, Ruel Fox, Tim Sherwood, I mean I could go on – and to be a part of all that is just totally overwhelming and unexpected.
“We’d like to thank Terry Venables for the reference and wish him all the best in his new role as next Spurs manager, with Glenn Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles as his assistants.
“At least that’s what should be happening right now.”
