Riyad Mahrez has been spotted at your nan’s house, fuelling speculation that he plans to have a nice cup of tea while doing the Times crossword.

The Leicester City star was released from international duty by Algeria in order to finalise a transfer away from the Foxes, prompting all manner of sightings.

In the last few hours alone, Mahrez has also been spotted at Roma, various Manchester hotels, Pyongyang and Pontins Camber Sands.

But Football Burp understands your nan is now the favourite to land the tricky winger’s signature.

She said: “He’s a lovely boy, ever so polite, so he’s welcome here any time.

“Initially he was just going to stop by for a quick gossip, but then I brought out my boxes of tea and biscuits and he can’t stop trying all the different flavours.

“So far chamomile with Garibaldi seems to be a bit of a favourite, and he’s got a knack for palindromes so we’re cruising through this crossword.

“I plan to ask him if he’s got another spare hour for rooibos, chocolate bourbons and Sudoku.”
