The Argentine, phenomenal, had failed to convert 6 of his previous 12 spot kicks going into this morning’s sensational dropping of a charge against him by Spanish authorities relating to financial irregularities.

His father, Señor Messi, now looks set to cop the flak for it on account of his considerably lesser ability to score 60 goals a season in La Liga.

All in all, the releasing of Lionel Messi from his tax fraud hook serves as confirmation, if indeed any were needed, of his penalty missing prowess.

In an added twist, and a sensational one at that, Messi’s team mate Neymar has been charged with tax fraud to go with his recent penalty miss against Villareal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Neymar claimed he was “basically Messi now”.
