Jon Stead has challenged Cristiano Ronaldo to 1v1 basketball in what is already being forecast as a potentially monumental smackdown.

The Bradford City giant-killer, journeymantastic, scored in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Premier League sharpshooters Sunderland to continue a run that’s seen him score in all five rounds of the FA Cup thus far.

Stead of course was influential in seeing off Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the 4th round, a game in which the Bantams came from 2-0 down to win 4-2.

Yes, that really did happen.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Jon Stead revealed himself to be so alive with confidence right now that he would like his B-ball showdown with Ronaldo to take place in a helicopter landing pad on the roof of a skyscraper.

He said: “And of course it would be live on TV.

“Let’s have it, I’ll take on all-comers. I’ve been rapping at myself in the mirror all morning pulling bad-ass poses, and quite frankly I don’t fancy the chances of anyone who might harbour any thoughts of stepping to me.

“Thinking on, I’d like to take this opportunity to challenge Mike Tyson to 12 rounds, Jean Michel Jarre to a techno light show and the hologram of Sammy Davis Jr. to a dance-off.
