Manchester City duo John Stones and Claudio Bravo are reportedly “neck and neck” for the Ballon d’Oh in the wake of their horror show at Leicester.

The defender and goalkeeper combined to hilarious effect as City went down 4-2 to the struggling Foxes, cementing their status as front-runners for the coveted gong.

Meanwhile, a supporter who tweeted “signing Stones and Bravo could lead to some spectacular errors as a result of overplaying at the back” back in August has been nominated for the Ballon d’Uh.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, City boss Pep Guardiola remained philosophical.

He said: “I’m just so proud of my philosophy for getting everyone within scooping distance of their respective gongs.

“A Ballon d’Oh is something you can show to your grandchildren and perhaps drop onto their foot by accident, fracturing their metatarsal.

“This is a great day for Futbol Club de Manchester City.”
