The Celtic fan who ran on the pitch and aimed a kick at Kylian Mbappé was “probably our best player on the night”, admits Brendan Rodgers.
Uefa have charged the SPL side over the incident, which took place during a 0-5 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
But Rodgers paid tribute to the supporter, citing his ability to get within ten yards of a PSG player as key to his side only losing by five goals.
He told Football Burp: “I probably shouldn’t condone it, but at least it put that little bit of doubt in the opposition’s minds.
“I’ve invited the fan in to give some instructional seminars detailing how he managed to even get close to a top-level player like that.
“Frankly, it’ll be worth whatever charge Uefa throw at us.”
