The second tier of English football, known as the Championship, has been demoted to being officiated by referee Mike Dean.

It’s been a troubled few weeks for the embattled division, which incurred the wrath of the FA after claiming a number Premier League scalps in the third round of the FA Cup.

Furthermore it has come to be seen as a laughing stock due to its lack of players being linked with impossibly lucrative moves to the Chinese Super League.

Dean entertained millions with a series of dodgy decisions over the festive period, but his talents will now be whisked away from the limelight in order to punish the Championship.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Mike Dean started with a few words before descending into repeatedly pointing at himself and frenziedly blowing his whistle.

He said: “I’m looking forward to refereeing these…PEEEEEEP! PEEP! PEEP! PEEEEEEP! Look at me!

“Over here! PEEEEP!”
