LIVID: Baby

Babies have issued a joint statement condemning Chris Sutton for comparing them to Riyad Mahrez.

The infants, at various stages of development, say they’re deeply offended by the suggestion that they’re anything like as stroppy as the want-away Leicester City star.

Mahrez has been a no-show at a succession of Leicester training sessions since being denied a deadline day move to Manchester City.

But the babies are at pains to point out that they have no real interest in anything beyond getting fed and occasionally cuddled.

They said: “As babies we take real issue with Chris Sutton comparing us to Riyad Mahrez.

“We’re nothing like him. For starters, we’re dedicated to our craft and we’re ever-presents at any nappy changes, burpings or wayward colourings-in that might need doing.

“The suggestion that we’re any more infantile than we’re expected to be as babies is a profoundly problematic one, we find.

“Of course we may be moved on occasion to quite literally throw our toys out the pram, but this is in no way comparable to the downing of tools displayed by Mahrez.

“We’re babies – we don’t have tools. We’re not even allowed anywhere near them.

“And so we call on Chris Sutton to retract his anti-babite comments with immediate effect.”

Riyad Mahrez was unavailable for comment.
