Arsenal retained their Arsenal of the Year title for a twelfth straight season with a ceremonial opening day home defeat.

The Gunners’ record continued with a defeat to Liverpool so quintessentially Arsenallike that even Arsenal had to stand and Arsenal.

Despite such a comprehensive Arsenalling, fans turned on Arsène Wenger as pressure grew on the Frenchman to spend oodles.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Gooner Nige, a Gooner from Goonersbury, was all like “what?” and “oh my days”.

He said: “What? Oh my days.

“Fair play to Wenger, he’s got Arsenalling down to a fine art, but at the end of the day it’s not quite enough.

“I’m old enough to remember seeing us go a season unbeaten. It’s hazy now, but I’m pretty sure we had some other manager at the time.

“All I want is to see us being the best team every season. Is that too much to ask?

“I predicted us for the quadruple just a few days ago and I’m anxious I may be made to look foolish.”
