Arsenal have done that thing again where they bow out of the Champions League in hilariously predictable fashion, it has been observed.

The Gunners, priceless, once again managed to exit at the last 16 stage of European football’s most hip ‘n’ happenin’ rebranded cup competition on away goals after winning 2-0 away from home in the second leg.

It marked the 15th consecutive season in which Arsène Wenger’s side have done exactly that, all of it, bar the one non-recurring detail of their opponents not always being Monaco.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, an exasperated Arsenal fan explained why the team should run out to “I Got You Babe” on match days.

He said: “It’s a pretty self-explanatory joke, really, although it does sort of presuppose that everyone reading this will have seen Groundhog Day or at least know about it.

“Supporting Arsenal is much like listening to the current top 40 – it’s all the bloody same, all of it, and it’s absolutely infuriating.

“But every now and then you get Shakira rubbing her arse against a wall, which is a bit like whenever we thrash some out-of-form mid-table outfit or other.”
