Arsenal are bracing themselves for an amusingly impossible Champions League round of 16 draw after topping their group, we can confirm.

Last night’s 4-1 win at Basel coupled with PSG’s shock defeat to Ludogorets ensured the Gunners qualify as group leaders, meaning they could be pitted against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

This comes off the back of years of finishing 2nd in their group and subsequently being sent packing by Bayern, Barcelona and sometimes even both at once.

That they this time managed to fulfil their group stage duties yet still face a last 16 exit has been met with hilarity by fans of other teams worldwide.

But the non-Gooners acknowledged the potential of getting landed with eggy faces should Arsenal beat Real or Bayern to progress to the quarter-finals.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Darren, a Spurs fan from Spurs, remained philosophical.

He said: “Let’s just enjoy the possibility while it exists, shall we?”
