It’s not every day you get to hear a commentator say “Jon Obi Mikel scores”, but that was the case as the shot-shy Chelsea midfielder got a goal against PSG.
Mikel’s strike in the 2-1 Champions League last 16 first leg defeat in Paris ensures that his side take a handy away goal into the return leg at Stamford Bridge on March 9th.
The Nigerian now boasts a record of 6 goals in 360 Chelsea appearances with his previous goal also coming in the Champions League, against Sporting Lisbon in December 2014.
It’s such a rare occurrence that there just had to be ‘Jon Obi Mikel scores’ jokes:

Mathematically, Next time Mikel is likely to score should be 2020 or so

Cavani on for PSG. If this is his response when Steven Fletcher comes on, I'd like to see his 'Mikel Goal' face. https://t.co/fD8Hej3VmG
