Wayne Rooney rediscovered his form on Wednesday night, netting a hat-trick in Everton’s 4-0 win over West Ham at Goodison Park, including a stunner from inside his own half that sailed over a retreating Joe Hart’s head.

The 32-year-old veteran England international guided the home side to a much needed victory with incoming manager Sam Allardyce in attendance and delighting caretaker coach David Unsworth in the process.

These were the best jokes as Rooney’s special goal caps a hat-trick against West Ham:

I’m fairness to Moyes, he’s made Wayne Rooney look like a world class player again, not even Van Gaal or Mourinho can say that.

If you think Allardyce was impressed with Rooney, wait until he sees Niasse in action.

Dreadful from Joe Hart, but a beautiful finish from Wayne Rooney.

GET HIM ON THE PLANE, GARETH!

GET BIG SAM ON THE PLANE TOO, GARETH!

GET OFF THE PLANE, GARETH!

Ask Joe Hart. He had a decent view of both.
