Scotland fell to a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan in their opening fixture of the qualifying stage for the 2020 European Championships.

Despite manager Alex McLeish’s assertion that they “started well”, Scotland were 2-0 down after just nine minutes of Thursday’s Group 1 match at the Astana Arena.

After struggling badly on Kazakhstan’s plastic pitch, they at least have the chance to bounce back in Sunday’s game at perennial whipping boys San Marino.

Now here are the best jokes as Scotland lose 3-0 to Kazakhstan:

San Marino 4-0 down to Cyorus at HT. apparently the team talk went along the lines of… "don't worry lads we've got Scotland at home on Sunday"

Mad that Kazakhstan have pumped Scotland all because no-one in the SFA could find Andy Robertson some bongela.

Remember the Scots would put the flag of whatever nation England were up against in the World Cup because they were so keen for us to fail?

Scotland lost 3-0 to Kazakstan today.

I would do the same but the Kazakhstan flag doesn’t even have it’s own emoji.

I think the Euro qualifying already proves that minnows like Andorra, San Marino and Scotland should play in a preliminary tournament to make the qualification groups
