Marseille’s Patrice Evra kicked one of his own team’s fans in the face prior to their Europa League clash with Vitória de Guimarães on Thursday night.
Words appear to have been exchanged before the player beckoned for the supporter to come down from the stands to face him.
A confrontation ensues before Evra ends up kicking the man in the head, becoming the first ever player to be sent off before kick-off in a Europa League match.
Named only as a substitute however, the visitors started the game with eleven men.
