Check out the best jokes that Twitter had to offer as Dele Alli caught the eye with a stunning goal and some robust challenges in England’s 2-0 win over France.
The 19-year-old has been a regular starter for Tottenham Hotspur of late and, with his sterling contributions in last night’s Wembley friendly, he’ll have gone a long way towards establishing himself in Roy Hodgson’s plans.
First of all he came away with the ball after a meaty tackle on Morgan Schneiderlin before taking it back again and rifling it into the top corner past Spurs club mate Hugo Lloris, then he dispossessed the much celebrated Paul Pogba in the build-up to Wayne Rooney’s strike.
Needless to say, Twitter was awash with comment, and some of it was quite funny…

Asked about Dele Alli, Paul Scholes literally just said the words "Well it's not very something that often happens." Stick to passing, mate.
