As Real Sociedad defeated the mighty Barcelona, the formerly derided Manchester United manager took the plaudits in the form of a whole new set of David Moyes jokes.

Moyes’s La Liga charges managed to hold on to a 1-0 lead against the Spanish giants following a Jordi Alba own-goal in the second minute.

Although Barcelona have now failed to win at Sociedad’s Anoeta Stadium in their last six attempts, the likeable Scot is once again being hailed as a football genius.
