Welbeck, who had been at United since he was 8-years-old, scored both goals as England secured a much-needed 2-0 win in Basel following their disappointing World Cup campaign.
In a surprise move on transfer deadline day, the striker left his boyhood club and new manager Louis van Gaal to join Premier League rivals Arsenal for fee reported to be in the region of £16m.
