INJURED: Again (Image: Kevin Walsh)

Daniel Sturridge is injured again, this time with a hamstring strain that will sideline him for “weeks”, so Twitter was again awash with wisecracks.

The Liverpool striker had only just returned to the side following his previous ailment, scoring twice in a 6-1 League Cup win at Southampton before appearing as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at Newcastle.

Reports suggest that he’ll miss the festive period, but the Anfield faithful could be forgiven for fearing a rather longer absence.

Perhaps these ‘Daniel Sturridge injured’ jokes will cheer them up. Then again, perhaps not…
