Our Fantasy Premier League tips Gameweek 33 goalkeepers round-up is here to usher you gently in the direction of those juicy clean sheets.
Recommended selections this week include players from Arsenal, Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Nick Pope, BUR – £5m
With FA Cup semi-finals dictating that some teams play twice in Gameweek 34 and not at all in Gameweek 35, it’s worth noting that Burnley are the only team to play twice in the former and also have a fixture in the latter.
It’s also worth noting that they’re back in form, with three wins in a row, and they also look back to having one of the tightest defences in the league.
Fixture-wise they’re also an attractive proposition – they play away to Watford this weekend, have home games against Leicester and Chelsea in Gameweek 34, then play at Stoke in Gameweek 35.
Pope is unlikely to keep a clean sheet in each of those games, but Burnley’s style leads to him making lots of saves so he can always pick up points that way as well.
But then again, with Tom Heaton now fit again, will Pope even keep his place? He almost certainly deserves to, but then Heaton has age and experience on his side.
You might have to pay attention to Sean Dyche’s press conferences to make this call. In any case, whoever keeps goal for Burnley in the coming weeks looks a great bet for your fantasy team.
Petr Čech, ARS – £5.3m
If he recovers from a knock then he’s got a good run of fixtures over the next three Gameweeks – home to Southampton, away to Newcastle then home to West Ham.
Should he not recover then it might be worth looking at his £4.8m deputy David Ospina, although you’d have to be sure that he was set to play all of the upcoming games.
Thibaut Courtois, CHE – £5.4m
Another one carrying a knock, but if he recovers then he’s at home to West Ham this weekend, then away to Southampton and Burnley in Gameweek 34.
Be warned though that he doesn’t have a fixture in Gameweek 35.
Good luck and happy selecting!
