Don’t get left in midfield

Find fantasy football fortune with these Fantasy Premier League bargain midfielders to start the 2020-21 season with.

Recommended picks include players from Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds, Man City, Man Utd, Southampton, West Ham and Wolves.

💸 Anthony Gordon EVE, 4.5

One of the few bright sparks for Everton in the closing stages of the 2019-20 campaign and could get plenty of game time given the available competition.

💸 Tomáš Souček WHU, 5m

A box-to-box midfielder who scored 3 goals in 13 games for West Ham towards the end of last season, and a remarkable thirty goals for Slavia Prague in the preceding season-and-a-half. It looks like David Moyes has found his new Marouane Fellaini, and he could be one of the bargains of the season at that price.

💸 Josh Onomah FUL, 5m

Got a number of goals and assists playing in an attacking position for Fulham post-lockdown. Probably not a player you’d want to start with, but a good bench option.

💸 Stuart Armstrong SOU, 5.5

Scored and assisted with impressive regularity in the second half of last season, playing an attacking role in an improving Southampton side.

💸 Naby Keïta/Jordan Henderson LIV, 5.5

On the off chance you haven’t already decided on your three Liverpool picks, it’s worth noting the recent signs of increased goal involvement from this pair.

💸 Allan Saint-Maximin NEW, 5.5

A surprisingly low price for an exciting player who was developing consistent end product as last season went on.

💸 Daniel Podence WOL, 5.5

Made an impression in his appearances towards the end of the last campaign and could be ready to claim a starting role this time around. If not, it’s make-or-break time for his £6.5m team-mate Diogo Jota.

💸 Phil Foden MCI, 6.5

Made great strides in his late-season appearances, scoring a number of goals, and while he’s a rotation risk he’s also potentially phenomenal value.

💸 Christian Pulisic CHE, 8.5

Seems to be growing into the role of Chelsea’s talisman for the post-Hazard era, so he’s potentially cracking value at that price. Be warned though he may miss a game or two at the start through injury.

💸 Rashford/Greenwood MUN, 9.5/7.5

Listed as midfielders this time around due to their recent starts out wide. If Rashford repeats his goals and assists tally from last year then he’ll be on for a 200-point fantasy season. As for Greenwood, he’s a devastating goal-scorer but also young enough that his game time won’t be guaranteed, especially with United reportedly in the market for a right-winger.
