Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 24: Midfielders

Yours truly gambled on £6.6m Sunderland midfielder Adam Johnson after his points hauls of 22 and 13 from the previous two games, and he rewarded us with the winning goal at home to Stoke City.

This weekend takes the Black Cats to Newcastle United – they won 3-0 in last season’s fixture, with Johnson scoring an absolute peach.

Another Adam, Lallana, continues to excel – he scored his sixth goal of the season in Southampton’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal to go third in the Fantasy Premier League midfielder rankings, behind only Yaya Touré and Eden Hazard.

Suffice it to say, he could make his present valuation of £7.6m go a long way.

Perhaps the biggest bargain currently going is Jason Puncheon, Crystal Palace’s match-winner for a second straight game – he now has double-points hauls from three of his last four.

While he undoubtedly looks a smart move at just £4.9m, we don’t fancy him to repeat the trick at Arsenal this weekend.

Christian Eriksen claimed another assist for Tottenham Hotspur in their 1-5 reverse at home to Manchester City, and his set pieces now look a key feature of Spurs’ game.

He’s also shown a knack for a goal, so he’s looking good value at £7.3m.

Elsewhere, James Morrison claimed two assists for West Bromwich Albion in their 4-3 defeat at Aston Villa.

He managed another assist, and indeed three bonus points, in the Baggies’ previous game so keep an eye on his form.
