Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 24: Goalkeepers and Defenders
West Ham United goalkeeper Adrián registered his second double-figured points haul in three games, making nine saves on his way to an unlikely clean sheet at Chelsea.
You might fancy him for another shut-out at home to Swansea City on Saturday, in which case he’d be a snip at just £4.3m.
Joey O’Brien is for some reason the Hammers’ most expensive W Ham defender at 4.9, whereas £4.5m Guy Demel has the most points and therefore may be worth your time.
Sam Allardyce’s lot now have ten clean sheets this season, the joint most alongside Arsenal.
It’s back-to-back clean sheets for Norwich City, whose £4.9m goalkeeper John Ruddy snuck up to third in the Fantasy Premier League goalie rankings.
The Canaries go to Cardiff City this weekend, so you might also want to consider one of their defenders as well, none of whom cost more than £4.7m.
You’ve got to fancy Arsenal for a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace – we’re pleased to note that right-back Bacary Sagna is coming good on our prediction of him getting more assists.
Sagna’s cross for Olivier Giroud’s cute backheeled finish was his second set-up in four games, so he’s looking good value at £5.6m.
Everton had been the league’s tightest defence prior to Tuesday night’s 4-0 defeat in the Merseyside derby, and we expect their misery to be compounded by an on-form Aston Villa.
Christian Benteke scored twice at Goodison Park in last season’s fixture, and if Sylvain Distin’s out then the big Belgian could punish the Toffees once more.
Our 0-0 prediction for the weekend is Newcastle United v Sunderland, so you might do well to avail of their defenders.
