This Euro 2016 Fantasy Football tips Matchday 1 goalkeepers round-up, based on the official UEFA game sponsored by McDonald’s, is here to usher you gently in the direction of those juicy clean sheets.

With Matchday 1 incorporating each team’s first group stage game (June 10th-14th), recommended selections include players from Portugal, France, Poland and Austria.

Hugo Lloris, France – €6m

They’re the hosts, they’re in form, they’re in a group with unfancied sides Albania, Romania and Switzerland – basically, it’s hard to look past the French in the group stages.

Łukasz Fabiański, Poland – €5m

Germany’s Manuel Neuer may be a more obvious choice from the same group, but if you’re penny-pinching then Swansea’s Fabiański should also find himself qualifying from a group that also contains Northern Ireland and Ukraine.

Rui Patrício, Portugal – €5m

The Sporting Lisbon stopper has kept an impressive 21 clean sheets in 45 games for club and country this season, and Portugal should be favourites to top their group.

Robert Almer, Austria – €5m

Although Portugal should be favourites to top their group, it’s worth noting that dark horses Austria had a fine defensive record in qualifying – perhaps unsurprisingly, since their back line includes Premier League title-winner Christian Fuchs.
