This Euro 2016 Fantasy Football tips Matchday 1 captains round-up, based on the official UEFA game sponsored by McDonald’s, is here to give you guidance in selecting a skipper.
With Matchday 1 incorporating each team’s first group stage game (June 10th-14th), recommended selections include players from Poland, France, England, Sweden and Wales.
1. Robert Lewandowski, Poland (forward)
Having scored 42 goals in 51 games for Bayern Munich this season, you’ve got to fancy Lewandowski in his opening match against unfancied Northern Ireland.
2. Olivier Giroud, France (forward)
Much derided he may be, but the Arsenal man looks to be France’s likeliest starter up front and Friday’s opponents Romania are no great shakes.
3. Harry Kane, England (forward)
Plays first against a Russia side that’s been decimated by injuries to their first-choice midfielders.
4. Zlatan Ibrahimović, Sweden (forward)
Just hit 50 goals in a season for Paris Saint-Germain so should fancy himself to score in his opening game against Republic of Ireland, although subsequent fixtures against Italy and Belgium may not quite be so forthcoming.
5. Gareth Bale, Wales (forward)
In what should be a tight game against Slovakia, Real Madrid star Bale is the man to make the difference.
Good luck and happy selecting!
