Young Boys fans showered the pitch with PlayStation controllers and tennis balls during a match against Basel to protest their club’s investment in eSports.

The referee had to stop play for several minutes as the Swiss Super League fixture succumbed to the unusual demonstration, which started just after the quarter-hour mark.

Bouncing back from their 0-3 defeat to Man Utd in the Champions League, Young Boys went on to beat Basel 7-1 at their Stade de Suisse Wankdorf ground.
