Frustrated at being penalised for a foul, Utah Royals’ Becca Moros appeared to insinuate that her opponent from Seattle had dived – by falling to the floor herself towards the tail end of a National Women’s Soccer League game between the two sides.
Seattle Reign went one in front shortly after half-time at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah on Saturday and the home side found themselves chasing the game.
In the 89th minute, Moros apparently clipped the heels of United States international Megan Rapinoe but then mimicked the action of a dive after the whistle was blown.
The 33-year-old received a yellow card for her reaction and the visitors held out for a 1-0 win.
