Watch in scarcely concealed amazement as South African goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto dribbles deep into opposition territory against Korea DPR at the U17 World Cup.

With both sides having lost their opening group matches and the score tied at 1-1 almost 3 minutes into injury time, Mpoto can perhaps be excused for trying to take matters into his own hands.

Apparently he’s nicknamed ‘Messi’, which is just what the situation would have become had he given the ball away in that position.

Fortunately for Mpoto, he manages to retain possession.
