VIDEO: Tranmere player uploads Facebook video of friend slide tackling man in the street

Someone shouts "Two foot challenge!" as player's "mate" appears to slide tackle a passer-by in Liverpool.

A video that appears to show a “mate” of Tranmere Rovers striker Jonathon Margetts slide tackling an unsuspecting passer-by walking along a road in Liverpool has been uploaded to the player’s Facebook account.

In the short clip, a man can be seeing running directly towards the victim before crashing into him with a dangerous-looking, two-footed lunge.

The assailant then runs away from the incident, leaving the man seemingly dazed in a crumpled heap on the floor with his drink spilled around him.

As laughter is heard on the audio track, someone shouts “Two foot challenge!”

The shocking video was reportedly posted on Margetts’s Facebook, which now appears to be unavailable, alongside a total of 18 smiley emojis as well as the caption:

No names mentioned but a mate of mine thought it was funny to 2 foot a randomer last night…cracker.

Currently on loan at Stockport County, the striker is also said to have referred to the video as “madddd” when a friend noted that it had gained over 20k views.

Tranmere Rovers have released a short statement on the matter, calling the incident “horseplay”, claiming it “not an attack on a stranger” and “no action will be taken”.
