One of the oldest zoos in the Netherlands, Diergaarde Blijdorp, is Feyenoord’s new shirt sponsor and have produced a touching ad that tells the story of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his stuffed elephant.

The video begins with a young van Bronckhorst back in 1985, buying the cuddly toy from the Rotterdam zoo and we watch as the kid starts to bond with the elephant before catastrophe strikes and it is sadly lost at sea.

Back in the modern-day, the elephant has now swelled to an enormous size and comes out of nowhere to greet Gio in the Feijenoord Stadion car park.

United again, the pair go about town enjoying all kinds of everyday activities, including a bit of footie.
