A Southampton fan was spotted dancing in his seat under the newly-installed lights at St Mary’s Stadium before kick-off against Brighton on Monday night.

The 8pm start gave the club an opportunity to show off their LED lighting system that replaced the traditional floodlights at the beginning of this season.

Supporters were caught on the Monday Night Football television coverage flailing about as the teams lined up while music blared out of the tannoy system.

One bloke, with the number 69 on the back of his Southampton shirt, was paid particular attention by the Sky Sports cameras.

The game finished 2-2 after the visitors fought back from 2-0 down.
