Santos manager Cuca shook every official’s hand except for the referee’s following the goalless draw with Grêmio on Thursday night.
Tempers flared in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A match at the Pacaembu Stadium in São Paulo, with 55-year-old Cuca ostensibly protesting the ref’s performance.
Cuca played for both sides during his career and even made one appearance for the Brazil national team, in 1991.
His spell at Grêmio was the more successful – he scored 19 goals in 48 games for them, compared to just 2 in 9 for Santos.
In a volatile atmosphere, Grêmio coach Renato Portaluppi also got into a scrape:
