A Reggio Audace fan caught a fish behind the goal at the Mapei Stadium during half-time of Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Modena in Italy’s Serie D.

With his team placed 3rd in the table and chasing promotion, it’s not entirely clear why the supporter felt the need to bring additional entertainment in the form of a fishing rod.

If he was expecting a snore-fest then his decision to bring one was validated on two counts – the game finished goalless, and he caught a fish.

Reggio Audace are the heir to Reggiana, who went bankrupt in 2018 and were a Serie A side during the ’90s.

They were the club of Cláudio Taffarel when he won the 1994 World Cup as Brazil’s first-choice goalkeeper.
