Referee Maurice Paarhuis accidentally scored for HSV Hoek against Harkmase Boys in the fourth tier of the Dutch league on Saturday.
Presumably it was unintentional, although some have suggested that he stuck a leg out in order to divert it home during a goal mouth scramble.

He had no choice but to allow his goal to stand, although new rules coming in next season would see such an occurrence resulting in a drop ball.
The ref’s unwitting strike brought Hoek back into the game, as they were 3-1 down at the De Bosk stadium before his unusual intervention.

But Harkemase went on to win 4-2 on the final day of the Derde Divisie, ensuring a 6th place finish while Hoek ended up in 4th.
