Steven Gerrard said “one million” while guessing the size of a “huge” eight figure bid that could come in for one of his players.
The Rangers manager was speaking to Sky Sports after a 3-0 win at Livingston’s Almondvale Stadium in the Scottish Premiership when the discussion turned to forward Alfredo Morelos, scorer of their third goal.
After he was rumoured to have been the subject of an £8m bid from French side Nice, the reporter enquired about the possibility of the Colombian leaving the club during the transfer window.
Gerrard was then asked what would happen if a “huge” approach was made for Morelos.
“Huge, like what?” is his reply before the idea of an amount with eight figures is floated in the post-match interview.
“£1m?” is the response this time, which, of course, is only seven figures.
