Portsmouth’s Sam Sodje was sent off for punching Oldham’s Jose Baxter in the balls twice as the two clubs clashed in League One on Saturday.
The Latics came away with a one-nil home win, thanks to an 11th minute goal from Baxter, casting Pompey four points adrift at the bottom of the table.
But the match was marred by a violent incident that resulted in a red card for Portsmouth defender Sodje on the hour mark.
The Nigerian international, starting just his 5th game for the club, appears to punch Oldham striker Jose Baxter in the balls during an altercation between the pair.

Portsmouth caretaker manager Guy Whittingham, speaking to BBC Radio Solent, said that Sam Sodje’s actions were “inexcusable”:
Having to play for the whole of the second half, virtually, with ten men is a big task.
The linesman said he punched the player.
If he has done that it is inexcusable because you are putting your team mates through playing 40 minutes with 10 men.
Despite going back down to ten men we were never out of the game. The way we kept going was as positive as we could; those are the plusses you’ve got to take out of the game.
