Consadole Sapporo’s Anderson Lopes fell ten feet when he jumped over an advertising hoarding celebrating a goal against Shimizu S-Pulse.

It was the Brazilian striker’s first home game for the J1 League side, which would explain his unfamiliarity with the layout of their Sapporo Dome stadium.

After scoring his second of Saturday’s match, he celebrated by leaping over a barrier – only to encounter an unexpectedly steep drop.

He plunged around three metres and was attended to by medical staff as he lay reeling on the floor, no doubt stunned.

Fortunately he emerged unscathed from the fall and went on to take his personal tally to four goals in a 5-2 win that took them 2nd in the Japanese top flight.
