Peter Reid speaks Arabic in this newly surfaced video of the former player/manager/pundit’s appearance on Middle-Eastern TV show, The Beautiful Game, filmed in Abu Dhabi.

The Metro describe the show as the “Arabian equivalent of Soccer AM”.

Used as a personality for a humorous segment entitled Can you speak Arabic? Reid, who was last in-charge of Indian team Kolkata Camelians, reads Arabic phrases from a sheet of paper.

Each sentence depicts Reid in a different hilarious situation, accompanied by some great cartoons of the former Sunderland boss.

The man who was infamously left for dead by Diego Maradona on the way to scoring his wonder goal at World Cup 1986 obviously isn’t familiar with the language and struggles with the list, pronouncing each item in a thick Scouse accent much to the presenters and audience’s amusement.

Reid, who made over 500 professional club appearances and gained 13 England caps during his career, then treats us to a rendition of his favourite song (in English) – apparently Mack the Knife by American crooner Bobby Darin.

Great video.
