Man City manager Pep Guardiola asked a staffer what ‘buzzing’ means at a press conference, only to be told it means ‘drinking alcohol’.

The source of the confusion presumably was Guardiola’s pronunciation of the word, which made it sound like ‘boozing’, although it’s not clear why he was asking.

Absolutely buzzing for this game tday

— Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) October 3, 2020

It might have been a tweet from Oasis front man Liam Gallagher declaring himself ‘absolutely buzzing’ for Saturday’s game at Leeds, which ended 1-1.

In this clip, you can hear Guardiola ask what ‘buzzing’ means, before providing the context ‘absolutely buzzing’.

He may have come away with the impression that Gallagher was planning to drink a lot while watching the match.
